Zayed Khan couldn’t have been a happier man. Just days before the release of his debut production “Love Breakups Zindagi”, the actor has become a father for the second time!
Zayed’s wife Malaika gave birth to their second baby boy in Mumbai Thursday night, the actor’s sister, jewellery designer Farah Khan Ali confirmed to IANS.
“The baby was born at Breach Candy Hospital around 9.30 p.m. Both — mother and baby — are doing fine. God bless them,” said Farah, who is one of Zayed’s sisters apart from Susanne Roshan, via SMS.
The couple, who has a three-year-old son named Zidaan, has named the newborn as Aariz.
“Yes, that’s the name they have thought of Aariz Khan,” added Ali.
Zayed’s close friend, designer Manav Gangwani too couldn’t contain his excitement and packed his bags for Mumbai as soon as he heard the news.
“(I) Came to Mumbai to celebrate the birth of my best friend, my brother Zayed & Malaika’s second baby! To all my Tweeties….AARIZ arrives! God Bless! Jai Balaji…The most beautiful baby boy I have ever seen! Looks like a little Strawberry! God Bless Aariz Khan,” Gangwani posted on Twitter.
Zayed’s “Love Breakups Zindagi”, which has been produced under the banner of Born Free Entertainment, jointly owned by Dia Mirza and Sahil Sangha, will release Oct 7.
The 31-year-old is the son of veteran actor Sanjay Khan.

Actors are like kids – Dia Mirza

Actor-producer Dia Mirza, who is looking forward to the release of her debut production venture “Love Breakups Zindagi”, says she treated her actors like kids on the sets of the film.
“Actors are like kids. You have to take care of them like kids, look after their smallest needs and make them feel wanted and comfortable. We tried to provide all actors an atmosphere where they felt good and also tried to create an environment of love and trust,” said Dia at an event here.
“Love Breakups Zindagi” is a slice-of-life film, which is made under Dia, Zayed Khan and Sahil Sanga’s banner Born Free Entertainment and Sahara Motion Pictures has co-produced it.
Directed Sanga, the film will hit the silver screens Oct 7.
Who is better – Zayed as a producer or Zayed as an actor?
“It is our relationship and our camaraderie that drives us. And the bond that we share reflects in our film. I wouldn’t choose either of them as he is my friend first,” she said.

Dia Mirza, Zayed Khan’s first production a romantic comedy

BollywoodWorld.com, Bollywood actors Dia Mirza and Zayed Khan, who have launched their production house Born Free Entertainment, annouced Wednesday that their first film is a romantic comedy titled “Love, Breakups, Zindagi”.
Written and directed by their third partner, Sahil Sangha, it will see Cyrus Sahukar, Tisca Chopra, Satyadeep Misra, Pallavi, Vaibhav Talwar and newcomer Auritra Ghosh and Umang in the lead roles.
“With our first production we have put our money where our mouth is. Above all, ‘Love, Breakups, Zindagi’ is an entertaining look at today’s relationships. But it is also absolutely honest about it. It has characters that will imprint themselves on the hearts and minds of all viewers,” Sangha told reporters here.
Zayed and Dia will also feature in the film.
Talking about their new venture, Dia said: “We sincerely believe that filmmaking is first and foremost about honesty. You need to be honest to your characters as actors, and you need to be honest to the story as a director. And we believe that we need to be honest to the audiences, delivering exactly what we promise.”
Zayed said that their production house will celebrate all kind of talent from anywhere.
“How often have you had a brilliant idea and thought there was no way you could translate that on to the screen? Well, Born Free Entertainment intends to give talented storytellers the opportunity to do exactly that, no matter what genre, no matter what background they come from.”
The film will go on floors in March and is slated to hit screens August this year. Salim and Sulaiman Merchant will compose the music, while Javed Akhtar will pen the lyrics.

Zayed Khan had to scold me on the sets to calm me down – Dia Mirza

She swept floors and brought things from her home on the sets of her maiden production venture. Actress-turned-producer Dia Mirza got so involved in the production of “Love, Breakups, Zindagi” that her partner Zayed Khan had to actually scold her to calm her down.
“I swept floors. I brought half of the things from my own house. For me, producing a film was not just about bringing in funds, making schedules and dealing with numbers, it was about realizing the imagery that we all had in our mind. There is a certain level of involvement that I feel a producer needs to have to give the film that push it needs,” Dia told IANS.
Dia and Zayed, along with Sahil Sangha, have launched the production house Bornfree and are currently in the process of finishing their first film under the banner.
It is being directed by Sangha and stars Dia and Zayed.
“Zayed scolded me once on the sets. I was behaving as if guests have come to my house. So I was taking care of smallest of things myself. Zayed was like you are an actor also, so you just need to calm down and relax and take a seat when your shot is over,” said the 29-year-old.
“It was a healthy fight and I’m glad that we had it. He was scolding me because he was looking out for me and that’s what you expect from your partner, to care for you, to account for you,” she added.
“Love, Breakups, Zindagi” is a romantic comedy and is slated to release in August. The film also stars Cyrus Sahukar, Tisca Chopra, Satyadeep Misra, Pallavi, Vaibhav Talwar and newcomer Auritra Ghosh and Umang in lead roles.
Although Dia is enjoying her newfound role of a producer, she finds it extremely exhausting.
“I’ve been asked what am I doing to lose weight, I said, I turned producer. With Sahil, Zayed and me, our day after pack up didn’t end. It’s been long hours, but it is just such an overwhelming experience to see what you thought to do,” she said.
“I didn’t have any clue that it will be so enormous a task. I think you have an inclination, but you don’t realize how much you have to put into it to make it happen everyday. I think you really need to love it passionately to give it all of yourself,” she added.
Now that she has tried production, Dia, who has acted in films like “Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein”, “Tehzeeb”, “Lage Raho Munna Bhai”, “Shootout at Lokhandwala” and “Hum Tum Aur Ghost”, is keen on donning the director’s hat.
“Direction is something I have always consciously thought about even when I was acting. I think it was my level of interest in the technicalities of making a film and how it all comes together. Soon I will direct a film,” she revealed.
