Ranbir Kapoor Biography
Ranbir Kapoor born 28 September 1982 in Mumbai. Ranbir Kapoor is an Indian actor who appears in Bollywood movies. He first appeared in the 2007 film Saawariya and won a Filmfare Best Male Debut Award.Son of actors Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh, He is the great grandson of Prithviraj Kapoor and the grandson of actor and filmmaker Raj Kapoor.
He has siter Riddhima Kapoor, his uncles are Randhir Kapoor and Rajiv Kapoor. Other family members include his cousins Karishma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor and Nikhil Nanda. Ranbir Kapoor studied at Bombay Scottish School in Mahim, Mumbai, and Learned method acting at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York.
Before starting off his career as an actor, Kapoor worked as an assistant to director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, where he was involved in the making of the film Black in 2005 and made his acting debut in November 2007 with Bhansali's Saawariya opposite newcomer Sonam Kapoor. The film failed to do well at the box office, though his performance was largely appreciated. Kapoor was then appeared in Siddharth Anand's romantic comedy Bachna Ae Haseeno 2008 with Bipasha Basu, Minissha Lamba and Deepika Padukone. The film did not performed well at the box office.
In Ayan Mukerji's Wake Up Sid, he portrayed the character of Siddharth Mehra. Featured opposite Konkona Sen Sharma, the film was a critical and commercial success, and Kapoor earned several nominations for Best Actor at various award ceremonies. Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, surfaced as one of the biggest hits of the year. Ranbit Kapoor appeared next in Shimit Amin's drama Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year. film received positive reviews by critics but failed to do well. Kapoor's performance was critically acclaimed. He appeared in Prakash Jha's multi-starrer Rajneeti, which released on June 4, 2010.
Kapoor currently lives with his parents in Pali Hill in Mumbai. In 2008, he announced that he was dating Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone. The couple later broke up in 2009.
